Reads right to left

Shy, insecure Toru secretly harbors tender feelings for his friend Ryogi. Unfortunately for Toru, Ryogi dates girls—lots of them. When a mutual friend informs Toru that Ryogi has expressed some interest in Toru that is not entirely platonic, Toru is left in a quandary. Apparently, Ryogi thinks of Toru when he’s “doing it” with his girlfriends. It seems unlikely all around that Ryogi could ever share the depth of feeling that overwhelms Toru when Ryogi is near. What then to make of the mixed messages Toru gets from Ryogi?

Toru resolves to play it cool. He doesn’t want a relationship based only on sex. But when Ryogi finally makes an unambiguous overture, Toru caves in and surrenders himself to Ryogi. The fateful aftermath takes up the bulk of Desire. Although Ryogi enjoys being with Toru, he continues to see girls, putting Toru at a crossroads. Should he cut his losses and end it with Ryogi, or settle for a sexual relationship that compromises his desire for love?

The drama plays out in 176 pages, with a five page epilogue. Desire is a native manga written by Maki Kazumi and illustrated by Yukine Honami.
