What motivates a man to kill? This question drives Don Cooper on an obsessive cross-country quest in search of a woman who seemingly bewitches every man she meets.

Don owns an idyllic coastal motel, until the day a guest goes on a homicidal rampage—murdering innocent bystanders and nearly killing Don. Don soon discovers that the guest’s mysterious girlfriend had left town just hours before the killing began. What about the woman could have driven the man to such extreme action?

As Don follows the woman from Las Vegas to Chicago and finally New York, he finds a trail of carnage—one man after another driven insane by jealousy, lust, and rage. Will Don discover the secret behind the beautiful blonde woman, or has he already fallen victim to the same uncontrollable obsession?
