The Rockmeez

    (Jzink, 1992)

A group of hard-rocking lava-men leave their secret volcanic island home to investigate the strange creatures known as humans, in the even more bizarre country called America. Using ultra-boring elevator music to transform themselves, the Rockmeez infiltrate an inner-city high school disguised as seemingly ordinary instructors. But, naturally, their mission to share their ultimate musical sound with the rest of the world is threatened by various super-powered baddies, from the sea-dwelling Pyrites to the mysterious Nasteez.

The Rockmeez comic encourages kids to stay in school and promotes the Teach for America program, which pairs teachers who’ve never failed with kids that have never succeeded.
