FSC
(Neko, 2002)
™ and ©2002 Foo Swee Chin
The FSC collection contains art and stories by Foo Swee Chin, a mysterious lady who has been expressing herself on the internet and at Neko Press and Slave Labor Graphics for a few years now. She is probably best known for her outstanding art in SLG’s Nightmares and Fairytales. Jamaica Dyer of Sequential Tart has described her work as “whimsical and morose”. FSC pulls together some of her most spellbinding efforts. This almost annual series ranges from conscious to suicide, with a “lost stock of children” thrown in between.
With her combination of swirling art and mental dialogue, she draws the reader into the her character’s mindswith deft skill. It often may be depressing, but FSC manages to be brilliant in whatever she puts her art and story to.
