Fernando Fernandez’s artwork has graced the pages of everything from Vampirella to Heavy Metal, and he has been contributing to French and British publications for years. In 1982, he created this graphic novel version of Bram Stoker’s classic piece of horror fiction, Dracula. Faithful to the source material, Fernandez’s adaptation beautifully recounts the story that Stoker wrote in the form of diaries, letters, journals, and newspaper articles and first published in 1897.

Jonathan Harker has become a prisoner of the Transylvanian count and discovers that his captor has supernatural powers. Narrowly escaping Dracula’s female vampire slaves, Harker heads for safety in Budapest and sends word to his fiancé, Mina Murray. Meanwhile, Dracula has arrived in England, and Mina’s friend Lucy Westenra has fallen under Dracula’s thrall and begun a murderous rampage of her own. Professor Abraham Van Helsing takes it upon himself to track her down and destroy the count’s various resting places with Harker and Dr. John Seward in tow.
