The future of 2113 is difficult enough for the average human, as the atomic wars of 2070 have spawned a dangerous world where crime is rampant and only the judges, like Judge Dredd, impose law and justice. For Devlin Waugh, occult expert and Vatican operative, it’s even tougher, since he has been turned into a vampire. Hiding from both the sunlight and those who would judge him for his vampiric nature, he nonetheless is forced to emerge on occasion—like, for example, when the skull of the Herod is stolen, or when freakish monsters roam the earth. On those occasions, being a vampire can be a blessing in disguise.

This collection of stories, originally presented in 2000 A.D. and Judge Dredd, features a sharp British wit along with its science-fiction adventure. As Devlin himself would say, “simply ripping.”
