The amulet called the Varya is the last remnant of Gantar’s people, and it has called Gantar to his destiny, which is to be a mystical hero of the oppressed, to make a name for himself as the Last Nabu. Still, to assume his role, Gantar must make a journey with Amarok, a beautiful young woman assigned to lead him to the Eye of the Needle—a place of spiritual importance to the Nabim (plural of Nabu). This intricately plotted limited series from Target Comics and creator John A. Peck is an interesting look at a young man assuming the mantle of mystic and hero.
