Weird War Tales (Mini-Series)

    (Vertigo, 1997, 2000)
™ and ©1997 DC Comics

Like its Silver Age counterpart, the Vertigo version of Weird War Tales is an anthology title featuring work from some of the most admired creators in the industry. Talents such as Grant Morrison, George Pratt and Paul Jenkins, as well as inspired newcomers, weave tales that not only entertain but also give the reader something to think about. The Vertigo imprint signifies titles with a slightly more mature focus, so while these stories adhere to the weird war theme, they deal with the psychological aspects of war while also adding in an occasional supernatural storyline. Subsequently this real-life approach illustrates the horrors of war more effectively than stories featuring, say, robots or the Creature Commandos.
