20 Million Miles More

Blue Water Comics continues its offerings in the Ray Harryhausen Signature Series with 20 Million Miles More, a sequel to the 1957 film 20 Million Miles to Earth, which is notable for Harryhausen’s famous brand of stop-motion clay animation. The comic picks up the tale of the movie’s monster, a Venusian creature called a Ymir, and brings the story into the modern day. Several plot threads are going on here: we have a research team that investigates the history of the Ymir (apparently, they have been on Earth before 1957), an American teenager who seems to get infected with Ymir DNA, and, somehow related, a young girl with precognitive gifts locked up in a government safehouse. How these plot threads will run together is sure to stir the imagination in a way that Harryhausen’s groundbreaking work in cinema did decades ago.
