30 Days of Night: Beyond Barrow

Why these crazy vampires keep trying to invade the same town, now heavily fortified, where they were slaughtered the first time is anybody’s guess. But then, why are humans spending so much time and effort to reside in and defend a small patch of nowhere that’s so attractive to bloodsuckers? Thankfully the thrill-seekers and big-game hunters who come to Barrow in this tale have a good motive, and the ever-developing art of Bill Sienkiewicz gets put to good use in a scene where visibility is poor and emotional effect is tense. Steve Niles scripts, but this issue is pure set-up with pretty good conflict pregnant on the horizon, unlike the sun.
