This fantasy series follows a group of mercenaries whose greed caused havoc on their world. When they are offered a huge payment for recovering the Five Keys of Telku, they accept the offer. Only later do they to find out that the evil lord who hired them planned to use the keys to open the Gate of Chaos and plunge the world into demon-controlled confusion.

When the Adventurers find out what evil their task could create, they kill the lord rather than allow him to unleash the forces of chaos. Unfortunately, his death creates a political imbalance in their world and causes a civil war. Now, the surviving adventurers: the archer Shadolok, the dwarf Bladehelm, the priest Coron, and the fire mage Sultar must try to save their world from the horrors they have caused.
