The SDF-1 was slowly making its way home when advance scouts over Pandora (a moon of Saturn) encountered a Zentraedi outpost. The scouts were only able to manage a brief warning to the SDF-1 before they were captured and transmission was cut off. The Robotech Defense Force had to get past the Zentraedi safely, but changing course to move far around the base could add months to the trip home. An open assault, on the other hand, would reveal their position to the Zentraedi. The only real choice was to send in a small, covert operations group to blow up the base—or die trying!
