Avatar is a three–issue mini–series based on TSR’s series of “Forgotten Realms” Dungeons and Dragons adventures. Its huge, hundred–page books tell of how the gods were banished from their respective planes and forced to live as humans until they discovered who had stolen the Tablets of Fate. Each god took over the body of one of their followers, using each one’s unique abilities to aid them in their quest.

Not all the gods, however, are seeking to cooperate. Bane, the god of strife, and Myrkul, the god of death seek to use this opportunity to become rulers of all the planes. The remaining gods–incarnate must overcome not only the earthly dangers that stand in their way, but this alliance of evil as well.
