The city was walled up to keep a plague from spreading to the outside world, and it did its job well. But within the city, demons prey on the few humans who have survived. Escape is impossible—a gigantic slug-like creature keeps all city residents, including the mutant “demons,” inside, as well as any potential visitors out.

In this city, certain humans have died, then come back as “angels,” metal-bodied spirits who have returned to help the living. Five such angels, a dead man, and a baby are all that stand between the surviving humans and a city of demons.
