After being accused of killing his father – a crime he did not do – Prince Varick is imprisoned in a dark cell. However, while in it his body mutated; his hair transformed into a ghostly white and his skin became gray. He gained strength as well, tearing the chains that once bound him and pummeling anyone who got in his way. Demons in the Shadow Realm have claimed him, wanting him to be a part of them, but he’d rather use his newly acquired abilities to find his lost love, Areala.
