This black-and-white limited series from Metro Comics harkens back to the days of such sci-fi stalwarts as Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon…with a wicked bit of humor from writer/artist Chuck Roblin. Tex Benson heads up the crew of the spaceship Avenger and finds himself in one cliffhanger situation after another, the most amusing of which involve the amorous advances of Princess Azora in Castle Thunder. The story here is rip-roaringly entertaining, and the artwork is reminiscent of Michael T. Gilbert’s work on Mr. Monster.
