Brian Reace was a marine, critically wounded in battle. The only thing that could save his life was an emergency transfusion of the experimental Super Enhancement Formula. Brian lived, and was even made more powerful as a result of the transfusion. But there was a very strange side-effect: his bloodstream became flammable! (He also became H.I.V. positive.) Despite this, Brian took on the identity of Bloodfire, and received a special commission from the President, himself, to work as a super-powered secret agent.
