Rent Girl

Unusual in format, style and subject matter, Rent Girl is the story of Michelle, a broke and aimless young lesbian who turns to the sex industry for sustenance. Written in prose and wrapped around illustrations on every page, the story does not flinch in its warts-and-all depiction of the world’s oldest profession. Michelle’s life is filled with paranoid Johns, fear of disease, and the lure of sometimes not-so-easy money. Constantly struggling between poverty and prostitution, she must eventually choose between a life of selling sex and its financial freedom, or to quit and possibly find some peace for her troubled soul.
