The year is 1939, just before the end of the world as we don't know it. Claymore, Greenland is a major metropolitan area, the dinosaurs have made Australia their new homeland in retaliation for being treated as third-class citizens, and alien operatives are trying to capture a renegade robot named Syntax E.R.R.O.R., who had already caused enough havoc throughout time and space and Heaven and Hell in the 1991 black and white series The Black Diamond Effect. Earth's altered timeline is a result of those events, and a crime worth a $50 fine and a probation.

This color title takes advantage of the latest computer graphics technology of 1998 to incorporate models of starships, robots, architecture, and planets wherever possible in the story, and it looks like the comic is entirely computer generated, not just "enhanced". The exceptions are some of the more cartoonish characters, who can't resist using Warner Bros. in-jokes as part of their comic relief.
