X-Men Forever

Phoenix. Juggernaut. Iceman. Mystique. Toad. Five more different mutants, in terms of background, goals, and dreams, probably couldn’t be assembled. But that’s just what the mysterious individual known as Prosh (a combination of “Professor” and “Ship”) does, even though he doesn’t want them to work as a team. Instead he wants them to operate as individuals, across the span of time. For in these five Prosh sees “cataclysm keys,” vital representatives of homo sapiens superior, and vital to the future of all humanity. To help them reach their potential, he sends them into their own pasts at key moments in time—for example, the day presidential candidate Graydon Creed was assassinated. Will they know what to do when they get there?

Since there’s no end of interest in all things X, small wonder Marvel Comics decided to revisit past events with a new twist.
