House of M was an eight-issue limited series in which the Scarlet Witch, who destroyed Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the controversial Avengers: Disassembled storyline, reshapes reality to make mutants the dominant species and humans the second-class citizens. This one-shot is a companion to the series and its crossovers that explains exactly who Magneto, Wolverine, S.H.I.E.L.D., Spider-Man, Namor, the Hulk, Captain America, and Luke Cage, among many others, are in this world of revisions. An “interview” with Otto Octavius, Hank Pym, and Hank McCoy rounds out the issue and examines the fears the world’s top scientists harbor about its direction.
