For years, Mirage Studios has enthralled readers with the adventures of four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We probably shouldn’t be overly surprised with Usagi: a samurai (or is it “ronin?”) bunny.

Usagi lives in a land much like seventeenth century Japan, except that in this case, most animals have evolved to become much like people. Thus our bunny friend fights side-by-side with rhino and rat warriors, fights feline Ninja, and naturally, makes the occasional crossover with our four turtle friends previously mentioned.

Following a long and successful run as a black-and-white comic, Mirage eventually made the switch to color. Volume 2 of Usagi Yojimbo finally shows the furry fighter in the brilliant hues he deserves.
