Image Comics—specifically Jim Lee’s high-quality Wildstorm imprint—picked up Jonathan Peterson (New Titans) and Kevin Maguire’s (Justice League) Strikeback! in 1996, and the riotously uproarious story of Rascal and his super-powered friends, “Hunt for Nikita” began again…but not anew. Malibu/Bravura’s first three issues were reprinted—with a cameo appearance by Erik Larsen’s fin-headed Savage Dragon inserted into the first issue—and this time the six-issue limited series finally got its ending. Even two years late, the storyline was still fresh, and the fun Peterson and Maguire must have had putting Strikeback! together was evident on every exquisitely rendered page.
