Warp is the story of Danny Carson, a rather wimpy bank clerk with a strange destiny. Years ago, he was possessed by the spirit of Lord Chaos, who appeared to him in terrifying visions. Things got so bad that Carson had been interred in an insane asylum, where he remained until the night that Chaos broke free from him and entered our world. That seemed to cure Danny, but of late he has been having strange headaches—headaches that ended when the wizard Lugulbanda called forth the spirit of Lord Cumulus from within Danny. Danny found himself on another world, with strange mental powers. Here he was Lord Cumulus, the only one powerful enough to stand against the forces of Chaos.

Warp is notable as the first comic publishing by independent First Comics. Warp’s origins are also unique in that it began as a daring set of plays, staged beginning in 1971, by Chicago’s Organic Theater Company.
