Never accuse Marvel of not running with what works. In 1996, they launched yet another X-title, The Adventures of the X-Men, which joined over a dozen other mutant titles including X-Men (2nd Series), X-Factor, X-Force, X-Man, Uncanny X-Men, Professor Xavier and the X-Men, and oh, so many more.

In truth, this was not strictly a new title, but a renaming of X-Men Adventures, which had run for three volumes already. Like its predecessor, Adventures of the X-Men was essentially a comic adaptation of the animated cartoon series that ran on Fox television. Included in this season are new adventures including a version of the Age of Apocalypse saga featuring the M’Kraan Crystal.
