The Jetsons (Archie)

    (Archie, 1995-1996)
™ and ©1995 Hanna-Barbera Productions

In the far-flung future, people drive flying cars…but traffic jams still exist. Jealous spouses; vain, self-centered teenagers; precocious children, and overbearing employers all play a significant role in the lives of the citizenry. It’s almost as if nothing in the future will really be any different, just time-shifted a few hundred years.

The precognitive skills of the Jetsons left much to be desired, but after all it was a product of its times. Okay, so the maid is a robot, but she sounds a lot like Shirley Booth who played a maid in the TV show, “Hazel.”

Several years after Harvey Comics had printed The Jetsons, Archie Comics obtained the license for this popular series. The stories from this publisher were slightly more involved, with more pages per story and attempts to impart humor throughout the story rather than just shoot for the gag in the last panel.
