The Shinma are a tribe of demonic beings who prey on humans, and it is the sworn duty of Vampire Miyu to hunt down the Shinma and drive them back into the darkness from which they came.

Vampire Yui’s father was a wandering Shinma, and her mother was a Shi (another supernatural tribe) whose blood contained some of Vampire Princess Miyu’s blood. As a Shi, Yui is connected to a lake of unimaginable power and seeks to reawaken Yuki, the lake’s guardian, and because of that connection and her quest, she is the target of any number of supernatural creatures who want the lake’s power for themselves. Fortunately, Yui is protected by Nagi. He’s a talented swordsman who also allows Yui to feed on him from time to time. What are sworn guardians for, eh?
