Steve Canyon Comics
(Harvey, 1948)
™ and ©1947 Field Enterprises, Inc.
Steve Canyon was designed to be the ultimate adventurer: he’s a ruggedly handsome and charming ladies’ man, as well as a skilled fighter and pilot. Along with a crew of other ex-Air Force members, he’s formed an international air service called Horizon’s Unlimited. For them, no danger is too great, no job is too small.
Of course, when they find themselves working for the beautiful but calculating Copper Calhoun, known on Wall Street as the Copperhead, they just might change their minds.
Writer/Artist Milton Caniff was well-known for his newspaper strips, as well as other artistic endeavors. His most memorable work was a strip called Terry and the Pirates, but he gave that up in 1947 for more personal control over his work. Steve Canyon ran as a newspaper strip for 41 years, ending with Caniff’s death in 1988.
