Doorway to Nightmare

    (DC, 1978)
™ and ©1977 DC Comics, Inc.

This supernatural series had a unique advantage over other titles in the same genre: a compelling main character, Madame Xanadu, who pulled all the other characters into a vortex of her own design. The mysterious Madame Xanadu, a Gypsy fortune teller who has set up her own shop in New York City, draws the most fascinating people into her shop and she does a lot more on their behalf than simply reading their tarot cards. In her own way, she acts as a guardian against the mystical forces which imperil her clients’ lives.

An interesting, if short-lived title, this 1978 series lasted just five issues.
