Fragment

Fragment’s inaugural issue, published by the creator–owned entity Hard Left Press, features four young commercial artists working separately in this fine art anthology showcase. Each takes his own personal approach to sequential art using mixed media and computer techniques.

In Matt Dicke’s “Ox Hour”, a woman in feudal Japan dismembers an effigy doll of her husband, but the results leave her less than satisfied. Cryptic memories haunt a man making his way through a ghostly landscape in Vincent Diga’s atmospheric “V•” David Hollenbach paints a murky collage of regret for the one that got away in “The Persistence of Memory.” James Kei’s protagonist in “Drudged” tries frantically to escape from an all–consuming corporate nightmare.

According to Dicke, future issues of Fragment will move away from the anthology approach used in the first issue in favor showcasing individual artists throughout the whole book.
