Part of one of the Free Comic Book Day events, this sampler of three sci-fi titles contains self-contained stories with a retro feel. In the opener, “Syn,” humans have become extinct on a future Earth and machines have taken over; however, the robots themselves are starting to look and behave like the flesh-and-blood species they have replaced. The manga-influenced “Go Boy 7” offers a lighthearted approach to science fiction while Stuart Moore’s “Lone” deposits a Western-styled hero in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by mutants and zombies.
