King Conan

Series continued in Conan the King #20

As was destined from the earliest pages of Conan the Barbarian, Conan of Cimmeria became a king. Though the ruler of Aquilonia had long aspired to such a title, he soon found the crown a heavy burden. Taken from a life of adventure, he was, quite simply, bored.

Then his wife was kidnapped by his arch-nemesis Thoth-Amon. That marked the real beginning of the life of Conan the King. After rescuing his queen, he found that danger indeed lurked everywhere. Dread forces were constantly imperiling both his family and his kingdom. Now Conan, who once thought of abandoning the crown, found himself taking on his grandest adventures of all.

A worthwhile series, King Conan (which changed names with issue #20 to become Conan the King) brings a whole new depth to the character of Conan.
