Andy Panda (Walter Lantz…)

Andy Panda was another funny animal creation from Walter Lantz, the man who gave us Woody Woodpecker. Andy, an enthusiastic black-and-white panda bear in fire-engine red trousers, gets his laughs tormenting his unlikely companion, Charlie Chicken. Andy Panda relies on situation comedy (“Andy goes fishing,” “Andy gets kidnapped by bank robbers,” “Andy and Charlie get lost in a haunted house,” etc. ), plenty of wise-cracking jibes between Andy and Charlie, and the usual broad assortment of funny animal sight gags to squeeze humor out of every page.

This series was continued from Andy’s numerous appearances in Four Color Comics.
