Marvel Mangaverse: Ghost Riders

    (Marvel, 2002)
™ and ©2002 Marvel Characters, Inc.

Take familiar Marvel characters and mix with a generous dollop of either giant robots or oversized villains while making sure you’ve got the prerequisite windswept hair and presto! The Marvel Mangaverse.

Damon Hellstorm and Johnny Blaze aren’t the closest of brothers, being sons of Satan and all. But when the ten-story-tall Hulk walks through town followed by their long-lost sister Satanna (naturally bent on destruction), they can either team up or watch New York fry at the hands of demons.

This simple tale, packed with a Brian Michael Bendis-esque use of dialogue and a flair for detailed computer art tidbits, is less manga comic than manga homage, using the style the accentuate what was already an off-beat plot.
