Spider-Man Megazine
(Marvel, 1994-1995)
™ and ©1994 Marvel Characters, Inc.
This 100-page (including covers) reprint title hit the stands in late 1994 and reprinted Spider-Man stories from various eras of his publishing history: classic Steve Ditko-illustrated stories from the 1960s; Spidey/Human Torch from the early 1970s and the early issues of Marvel Team-Up; and Spidey’s early encounters with the beauteous Black Cat from the 1980s.
An excellent package of nostalgia, Spider-Man Megazine offered up important moments from the web-slinger’s past for the enjoyment of fans, both new and old, for only $2.95 an issue. Unfortunately, low sales forced the cancellation of this and Marvel’s other “megazines” after only six issues. Too bad, especially since inexpensive reprints of classic stories are hard to come by these days.
