This well-written—Hey, it’s by Chuck Dixon (Nightwing, Robin, Birds of Prey)!—series from Now Comics tells the story of two genetically engineered, well, super-cops who escape the government program that created them and work with local law enforcement officers to rid Los Angeles of crime. Their efforts run them afoul of drug-lords, gun-runners, street gangs—all manner of scum and villainy. No one writes grim-and-gritty crime drama better than Dixon, and this series—with its sci-fi influences—is no exception. There’s also some nice artwork by Peter Grau (Titans).
