Part of the Elseworlds line of alternate realities and having no relation to regular DC Comics continuity, this three-issue limited series recasts the original Green Lantern, Alan Scott, as a villain, a notorious gang leader in 19th century New York. In authors Howard Chaykin and David Tischman’s Elseworlds version, Kyle Rayner is a political cartoonist who is rewarded with a magical ring after saving a shopkeeper’s life. The ring, created by the King of the Leprechauns, gives Rayner super powers, bringing to life whatever he imagines.
