Iron Fist

First appearing in Marvel Premiere #15, Iron Fist is really a martial artist, Daniel Rand. As a child, Daniel had been taken by his parents on an expedition to Tibet, to search for the legendary city of K’un-Lun. Tragically, his parents were killed in the quest, but Daniel was taken in by the city’s inhabitants where he was trained to become a master of the martial arts. Eventually he rose to assume the ultimate position, received the brand of the dragon on his chest, and learned to focus his chi—his soul force—into an awesomely powerful Iron Fist. Striking with the Iron Fist, however, drained him terribly, leaving him weak for several hours.

In this series, Iron Fist teams with detectives Colleen Wing and Misty Knight to fight legions of kung-fu-fighting bad guys. He would later join forces with strongman Luke Cage, to form the freelance “Heroes for Hire” service.
