America’s Best TV Comics

To promote its fall Saturday morning TV lineup in 1967, ABC issued the one-shot “America’s Best TV Comics,” with stories featuring each of the animated shows. The lineup includes Casper the Friendly Ghost (with Wendy the Good Little Witch), an animated version of King Kong, the Tarzan spoof George of the Jungle (“watch out for that tree!”) and Journey to the Center of the Earth. In addition, two shows are based on Marvel comics characters, the Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Four, which are featured with reprints from their regular comic books.
