Occult Laff-Parade
(Print Mint, 1973)
™ and © 1973 Jay Kinney, Kim Deitch, Ned Sonntag and respective creators
This book details classic stories of those who feel out of place in society getting sucked into the downside of the supernatural and cult-ism with a little adult humor thrown in.
Bruce is attracted to Diana, who seems the only bright spot in his life. Diana is handing out pamphlets detailing “The Plan.” Soon he is meeting the local cult leader, Padre Leon, and finally the creator himself, Lord Blackstone. But Bruce has learned his lessons well and fears nothing and turns on the spiritual bullies, taking Diana with him. Soon, they’re out on the streets, hawking their own “Plan.”
“Fingernail of Fear” teaches a lesson to those who would cheat soul-hungry demons from Hell. “Bayooh Blooze” shows the dangers of messing with a tried and true recipe. Other stories and adds keep true to form.
