Jack Monroe is Nomad. As a boy, he was injected with a derivative of the Super Soldier Serum which created Captain America. For a while, he wore the mask of Bucky, Captain America’s sidekick, but he became increasingly unstable, and was eventually placed in cryogenic sleep. He reappeared in Captain America #282 as Nomad, a costumed vigilante. However, his vigilante tendencies caused the government to take a harsh view of him, and he was forced to drop out of sight.

In Nomad, Monroe becomes truly worthy of that name. A reluctant “father” to a baby he calls Bucky, he wanders across America, displaying an uncanny ability to find trouble wherever he goes.
