While sailing alone on a one-man yacht, adventurer Lara Croft entered a thick fog bank. When the fog cleared a pirate ship from the sixteenth century lay dead ahead. The armaments of the ship outnumbered her admittedly more modern pistols so Croft accepted Captain Kagan’s generous offer of partnership. The existence of this ship was a mystery too intriguing to ignore, although Kagan’s roguish charm may have been a factor. Once aboard Croft discovered the extraordinary truth about the ship’s nature.

This episode kicked off a twelve-issue quest across the world that took Lara Croft from the Lost City of El Dorado to the ancient sites of Sodom and Gomorrah, and perhaps the most intimidating of all…to her high school reunion. The strange events of the first issue of this companion to the Tomb Raider series were revisited in later issues when an oddly familiar man named Kagan resurfaced in the present.
