I was very impressed by this intelligently written and drawn book that is really more of an illustrated book than a comic book or graphic novel. Originally published in England in comic strip form, Bovary tells the story of the life and death of Gemma, who was a much–revered woman in Normandy, France. Details of her romantic life, and the people she encountered in her lifetime such as good friend Raymond Joubert and her husband Charlie Bovary are complexly laid out in this formal presentation.
