Nighthawk was a member of the Defenders who gains increased speed, strength, and agility during the night. In this title, Nighthawk is in a coma. As he hovers between life and death, he is tricked by Mephisto so that he uses his powers against criminals—before they commit their crime. Unfortunately, this has the effect of making Nighthawk look like a brute attacking innocents. This causes Nighthawk to run afoul of Daredevil, who, unaware of Mephisto’s machinations, attempts to stop Nighthawk’s rampage.
