When photojournalist Peter Parker investigates a theft at Osborn Chemicals, he’s expecting a simple story of industrial terrorism. What he finds, however, is a threat of worldwide proportions, with roots dating back to 1945 and the last days of Hitler’s Third Reich.

Terrorists known only as the Baroness and the White Ninja have stolen the mysterious Cassidy Crystals. In gaseous form, the crystals are capable of inducing hallucinations and uncontrolled fear on a massive scale. The Baroness plans to distribute the gas across the entire planet, using the resultant chaos to seize control and usher in a new era of Nazism.

Spider-Man joins forces with the international bounty hunters Silver Sable and the Wild Pack, and together they travel to Bavaria, intent on foiling the Baroness’ plans. They quickly discover, however, that their real foe is Baron Zemo, a ruthless fiend long thought dead.
