Tiny Chrysalis Studios introduced Rare Breed in late 1995, with the series lasting just two issues before it blipped off the comic industry radar.

The premise is standard stuff: a group of dysfunctional super-heroes united by a similarly troubled leader to go out and fight terrorists around the globe. Like the movie, The Dirty Dozen, all the “good guys” are wanted by the law, and a big part of the incentive to join this super-team is the promise of a presidential pardon after they serve for a year. They also receive a small, five million dollar stipend.

The team is composed of Antonio Manetti (Ammo), your basic mercenary type; Pamela Christensen, a clairvoyant genius with multiple personality disorder; Chris St. John (Ravager), an American Indian vampire; Valentina Alexa Anderson (Swede), a femme fatale secret agent; and Mustafa Nabutu (Ambush), a black albino hunter.
