Jessica Jones used to be a super–hero and an Avenger, according to creator Brian Michael Bendis’ Alias and The Pulse series. She had it all, until an unfortunate encounter with the Purple Man led to a brutal battle with the Avengers—and the end of her super–hero career. Not long after that though, she received an offer from Nick Fury to be S.H.I.E.L.D. liaison to the Avengers. What if she’d taken it? How would her life, and the lives of those close to her, have turned out differently? Could she have prevented one of the Avengers’ greatest tragedies from happening?

This one–shot reunites the Bendis and Michael Gaydos team that made the Alias comic a cult hit. It is one of several “What If” one–shots released by Marvel in 2005.
