Pacific Presents

    (Pacific, 1982-1984)
™ and ©1984 Pacific Comics

This series, Pacific’s third, helped inject vigor and vitality into the emerging independent market in the early 1980s. By far the most prominent feature in the four issues of this anthology title was Dave Stevens’ Rocketeer. After his debut in the pages of Starslayer, the Rocketeer made his third and fourth appearances in the first two issues of Pacific Presents. Filling out those first two issues was Steve Ditko’s Missing Man, a hero in the true Ditko mold, boasting a unique appearance—only his face and limbs could be seen. The Missing Man’s stories continued in later issues of Pacific Presents, along with the debut of Will Meugniot’s Vanity in issue #3 and Tim Conrad’s “Wildly Plausible Plight of E. Erie Smith and Walter Weary.”

Rocketeer continued his adventures in the pages of the Rocketeer Special Edition and later the Rocketeer Adventure Magazine.
