In 1994, writer and artist Jae Lee presented the Hellshock mini-series, a story about a troubled young man named Daniel. As a child born of a fallen angel and a mortal woman, Daniel was caught between the forces of Heaven and Hell.

With this 1997 series, Jae Lee expands on his story concept, and the characters involved. Without the time constraints of a limited series, he plans to take an already-good story, and give it the attention and detail she felt it deserved the first time.

The book promises to be an intriguing blend of realism and mysticism. As the series opens, the story is being told by Christina, a young psychologist whose path is twined with Daniel’s. The hellishness of the mental hospital, and the torment of the patients and doctors both, is certainly only a forewarning of what is to come.
