Star Blecch: Deep Space Diner
(Parody)
Story and art ©1994 Respective Creators
It’s the spoof that boldly goes where no spoof has gone before! Star Blecch: The Degeneration and its second story, Star Blecch: Deep Space Diner take aim at the TV sequels to the popular Star Trek. In The Degeneration, the intrepid Captain Jean Luke Perry and the crew of the starship Compromise deal with a critical malfunction in the ship’s toilets. Along the way, they must also put up with assorted transporter malfunctions, the infamous space-god “Pew” and more Star Trek in-jokes than you can believe.
The other story, Star Blecch: Deep Space Diner, does a wonderful job of nailing the characters of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, especially their various character gimmicks. Their adventure pits the crew of the Deep Space Diner against the alien Bourgignonne, whose superior culinary technology has allowed them to create French fast food. Can the hopelessly outclassed diner ever survive their epicurean threat?
